The Magpie Project ("we," "us," or "our") operates themagpieproject.com. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit our website and how we use it.

What We Collect

We do not use cookies. Apart from the two forms described below, we do not collect, store, or process any personally identifiable information (PII) through this website.

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors interact with our site. GA4 collects anonymous, aggregated usage data including approximate geographic region, device type, browser type, pages visited, and session duration. This data is collected through Google's first-party measurement tags and does not identify you personally. Google may use its own cookies in connection with GA4; for details, see Google's Privacy Policy.

Contact Form

If you voluntarily submit information through our contact form (such as your name, organization, and email address), that information is sent directly to Google Forms and is used solely to respond to your inquiry. We do not sell, share, or use this information for any other purpose.

Talent Network Form

If you submit our talent network form, we collect the details you choose to give us: your name, email address and, optionally, your phone number, location, time zone, professional links, a description of your work, your rates and availability, details of any business you work through, whether you carry professional insurance, your resume and photo, and who referred you.

We use these details only to consider you for work with The Magpie Project and its clients. They are stored in a secure and private database and are seen only by The Magpie Project's staff. We do not sell or share them, except that we may describe your experience to a client when proposing you for a specific engagement. If you also tick the newsletter box, we may send you occasional news; you can unsubscribe at any time.

We keep your details while you are part of our talent network. You can ask us to correct or delete them, or to send you a copy, at any time by writing to tidings@themagpieproject.com.

Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

For visitors in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or Switzerland, our legal basis for processing analytics data is our legitimate interest in understanding website usage to improve our services. For contact form and talent network form submissions, the legal basis is your consent, given by submitting the form. You can withdraw that consent at any time.

Your Rights Under GDPR

If you are located in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of any personal data we hold about you. Data Retention

Analytics data is retained in Google Analytics for 14 months, after which it is automatically deleted. Contact form submissions are retained only as long as necessary to respond to your inquiry. Talent network submissions are kept while you are part of our talent network, or until you ask us to delete them.

Third-Party Services

This site uses Google Analytics 4 and Google Forms. These services are operated by Google LLC and are subject to Google's Privacy Policy. We have no control over Google's data practices beyond the configuration options available to us.

Talent network submissions are stored with Baserow, the database service we use, subject to Baserow's Privacy Policy.

Children's Privacy

This website is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised date.
